Vampire Jar Zine - The Creative Process

$20.00

Based on my own artistic practice, I have seen that the creative process is influenced by many factors: life events, conversations with others, chance happenings, emotions, psychological processes, and the list goes on. Especially potent for me is dreamwork, used both in a clinical setting as well as my creative practice.

This zine illustrates the analysis of a creative process that had an impact on the artist’s personal life. Included are a set of essays as well as diagram content that explores this theme.

There are two hypotheses explored in this zine, through the lens of three perspectives on creativity: Rollo May’s Encounter, Les Vygotsky’s Imagination and Arts-Based Research (ABR) with a Jungian frame. The first hypothesis I will explore is the bi-directional relationship between dream content and creative work. Secondly, I hypothesize that this relationship will lead to an emergent symbol that enriches the meaning found in the creative work, as well as inform personal action.
