Below the Surface: Creative Potency
This week I’ve been thinking about creative potency and the infusion of this into our daily lives. I pulled a quote from one of my journal entries in 2017:
[Journal 2017]
The creative work you desire is like tea in a cup of plain water.
The water must be boiling below the surface…
Only then can it engulf and enrich.
The water must be boiling below the surface…
only then can it engulf and enrich.
We are constantly inundated with the message that we need to do more or create more. But this is a bit of a different approach: we need to let creativity seep into our lives and soak it up.
The second aspect to being engulfed in this kind of creativity is to be “boiling below the surface.” We as individuals must be in a place to receive this creative infusion. There is an almost alchemical interaction that transforms a “cup of plain water” into an aromatic tea.
